Juggling a full-time job with family life is never easy. It seems a superhuman feat for a mom to complete a 40-plus hour work week while looking after a family and managing a home. There aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish everything that needs to be done.
Are you struggling to keep all the balls in the air? Are you feeling a bit stressed? You are not alone. In fact, most working moms do.
Here are 3 ways to balance work and family life. Use these tips to help you fill in the role of a mother and a career woman while still staying sane.
Prioritize
The idea is to determine which ones are more important to you. This is the first step in achieving a balanced life. You can’t do everything all at once. Sometimes, something has to give. Focus on things that need to be accomplished. The others can wait.
Learn to delegate
We understand that you want to get things done quickly, effectively and thoroughly. But you won’t be able to accomplish things if you try to do everything yourself.
Try to delegate some of your tasks so you can focus on things that are more important to you. Think about outsourcing some of your work. Or you can ask your family to take on some of your chores. If you can, delegate. Not only will make you happier, it will also keep you saner.
Find childcare that you and your child are happy with
Parents, mothers most especially, often feel a twinge of guilt for leaving their children at home. But if you often worry about your child’s happiness and health while you’re at work, you won’t be able to accomplish much.
If you’re lucky enough to have friends or family members who live nearby, it may be a good idea to entrust the care of your children to them. This way, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that you kids are in safe and loving hands while you’re away.
